COLAM Alumni signs with woman´s golf.

MEMPHIS – Victoria Gallegos of Saltillo Coahuila, Mexico, will join the Memphis women's golf roster beginning with the 2018-19 season head coach Beth Harrelson announced Wednesday. Gallegos is the second newcomer to the roster for the Lady Tigers, joining Ana Dawson, who signed in November.

Gallegos has had a top 10 national ranking in her native Mexico over the past four years and has ranked in the top two in her region in each of the past four seasons, including a regional rank of second for this season. Taking up golf at age six, Gallegos has qualified for the Interzonas regional tournaments for seven consecutive seasons, claiming a championship and a runner-up finish in the past four seasons.

A graduate of Colegio Americano de Saltillo, Gallegos will be the third international player on the Lady Tiger roster for Memphis next season. Redshirt senior Michaela Fletcher joined Memphis in 2014 from her native South Africa and twice qualified for the NCAA Regionals and as a freshman, became the first player in school history to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Fellow 2018 freshman Dawson will come to Memphis from the Isle of Man, while Gallegos joins the roster from Mexico.

Memphis is coming off a season that saw the Lady Tigers match their best finish in the American Athletic Conference tournament. Memphis finished fourth at this spring's championship and had two players earn All-Conference honors. Emily Goldenstein, who graduated from the University of Memphis earlier this month, and rising senior Sydney Colwill each earned all-conference honors.

Memphis' fall semester will begin on August 27th.
